Lance has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. He established his practice in 1997, which became the Lance Hocutt Financial Group in September 2015.
Lance earned a bachelor’s degree in financial planning from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in financial planning from Texas Tech University. He is now seeking his doctorate in financial planning and is currently in the dissertation stage with an expected completion of December 2020. Lance carries the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, which empowers him with the fiduciary knowledge and tools needed to serve his clients’ best interests. As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Lance has in-depth knowledge of the needs of individuals both before and after retirement, and he engages in retirement planning for a variety of important issues; some of these issues include sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored retirement plans, tax planning, retirement cash flow, asset management, estate planning and more.
Dedicated to giving back, Lance has given his time and support to many different community events and organizations, including the DCH Breast Cancer Foundation, DCH Sports Medicine Fun Run, DCH Pastoral Care Fund, Tuscaloosa Mayor’s Cup, Read Bama Read, Tuscaloosa Half Marathon and the Tuscaloosa County School System. He is a benefactor of Wine Women & Shoes for the Shelton State Community College Foundation. He is also an Adopt-A-School partner with Hale County High School through the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, providing support for the faculty, staff and students of the school system. He serves on the board of directors for the University of Alabama Medalist Club, Sweet Water Outreach and the Police Athletic League of Tuscaloosa.
Lance has been married to his high school sweetheart, Celeste, for more than 30 years and together they have four children: Maggie, Laney, Will and Jamie. Lance is also a member and deacon of the Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church.
Reagan began working as the Marketing Director and Client Service Associate for Lance in September 2017. She gained experience in Marketing as Student Government Association President at Gordo High School by organizing and advertising events for the student body. She was also a cheerleader at Gordo for 6 years. Upon graduation from high school, she went to the University of Alabama to major in Consumer Sciences. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in May 2020 and is expected to complete her Masters degree in Family Financial Planning and Counseling in December 2020. She plans to become a Financial Advisor and help people meet their financial goals. Previously, she has worked as a waitress at Cattle on a Flame in Gordo, Alabama.
Having grown up in Gordo, Reagan loves living in the South and plans to stay here forever. Her interests include reading, working out, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Echola, AL.
Metta joined Lance Hocutt Financial Group in May 2017 and she plays a key role in making sure our firm operates smoothly and efficiently. In addition to her administrative duties, she is active in coordinating meetings and interacting with our clients, team members and other professionals.
Metta worked at First Federal Bank in Tuscaloosa for 10 years, so she brings a deep understanding of the financial services industry and customer service to the branch. She takes pride in assisting our advisors as they help clients work toward reaching their financial goals.
Metta was born in southern Louisiana and graduated from Mississippi State University. She and her husband, Todd, were married in 1991 and moved to Tuscaloosa one month later. Together, they have two sons, Blake and Chase. Metta is also a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Maggie has been a part of the team since January of 2019. She joined as a Marketing Associate and Client Service Associate. She graduated May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her artistic background has helped her marketing skills as she continues to learn how to help promote the business through various marketing events and social media.
Maggie was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She feels that the South is her home and would like to live there for the rest of her life. She walked on to the University of Alabama Women’s Rowing Team and developed team-oriented skills during her time on the team. Her interests consist of spending time with family and friends, pursuing a healthy lifestyle, travelling with her family, and a wide range of the arts, including painting, music, photography and literature. She is a member of Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church in Akron, Alabama.
